Leather for May & June? - Most Definitely

Whilst a leather jacket might not be the first thing on your list for your spring wardrobe, think again... the British weather is relatively changeable throughout our seasons and the spring is no different. Having just said that, most of the UK climate is influenced by weather streams from northern / Nordic countries. So if you live in Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Canada or USA then you may want to read on

We all know that all too often spring days can get a little chilly during the day and even more so in the evening. So whether you are just out and about, making a special trip, going to and from work, out with friends or colleagues or just out on a date a leather jacket is often a very worthy companion. Leather just wears so well with almost anything it is hard to resist. All leather has a great ability to breathe as it is natural material, nappa leather is soft and supple and a great choice for milder come warmer seasons and will be as comfortable to wear as a typical cloth / suit blazer or jacket.

If you have a very definitive style there is a great choice of designer and fashion zip and button leather jackets to choose from, whether it is a fashion zip or biker style to a designer waist or hip length blazer. For those of us that are looking for a new style it can often be a wise move to opt for a classic zip or button jacket and maybe venture to a new colour. If you are very unsure of which style and or colour to buy, it is definitely worthwhile at times to venture out to the high street and try on a range of jackets styles similar to the styles viewed online before making your choice.

Some quick pointers for spring:

  • Single breast blazers are a very safe choice, they can be dressed down or up for casual or smart wear and will also serve you all year round.

  • Classic zip jackets can't fail you either as these are typically for easy wear and can again look smart or casual depending what you wear them with and the type of fit you go for. Loose fit is more casual, whereas a tailored fit giver a smarter look. Go for comfort fit if you are unsure.

  • Biker jackets tend to be in either a classic style suited to those looking for timeless class come chic or in a designer fashion style if you want an edgy or trendy chic or cool hip look.

  • Nappa and aniline leathers are well suited to the spring.

Whatever your style and preference, everyone should have at least 1 or 2 leather jackets in their wardrobe. The aficionado will have anything from 6 to 15 jackets, if you are a 'no' or 1 leather jacket individual, you may be amazed to learn that there are a number of people that have 6 to 10, or 12 or more leather jackets and coats, note the coats!! This typically can include a winter sheepskin and a variety of leather colours and finishes. Once you have owned a leather jacket you will be smitten, which ever category you fall into always enjoy and use your jacket and wear it with pride.
